A journey begins...

Feel the dualism between life and death, light and darkness

The art of PHANDOOM places the existence of man in the apparent dualism between the living and the dead. Morbid transience meets organic, pulsating life and thereby creates a fatalistic and thus at the same time soothing reality.

Above all this hovers the essence of human nature, always asking about the place of man in our cosmos, often figuratively expressed in the form of anonymous, genderless masks.

PHANDOOM creates sculptures from wood-plastic composites. He combines the different materials and creates a homogeneous structure. High-resolution photographs of the sculptures are then refined by him into unique digital works of art and made physically tangible as art prints on extraordinary papers.

The art of PHANDOOM is characterized by contrasts and opposites, which at first seem like contradictions, but then harmoniously merge into a unity. This is evident not only in the materials used, such as tree bark and plastics, but also in the theme of the sculptures. Seemingly lifeless objects interact with living tissue and form a henceforth inseparable symbiosis.

The raw-looking and morbid structures are given a unique elegance and sublimity by strong metallic colors and delicate shimmers. A unique elegance and sublimity. Digital modifications by the artist create variations and new levels of representation, which again put the sensitive sculptures in a completely new light.

Dark and fantastic

The art of PHANDOOM

The art of PHANDOOM consists of original sculptures in various sizes (eg 40×60 cm, 80x80cm). High-quality picture frames surround the works of art and emphasize their unique character.

Based on the sculptures, the artist creates high resolution digital photos, digitally modified by him, in order to use for the design of high-quality photo prints and posters, mainly in 2:3, 1:3 and DIN format. The artist predominantly uses golden, silver and strongly contrasting colors to reinforce the expressive content of his works and to emphasize the apparent dualism of the opposing positions.

The art is spaceless and timeless and thus takes its place in the cosmos without being tied to a specific era, country or borders. Deep furrows, cracks in the bark and hard accents, and yet blurred structures on the surface, hold the viewer under their spell and take them on a journey in which they not only consume art, but become aware of themselves and the world.

Frequently asked questions

The sculptures are composites of wood and plastic. Based on a wooden background, mainly tree bark is used, which has a special, eye-catching surface, especially birch bark. Most of the sculptures feature other objects, such as generic masks or unusual objects, which then form the central motif of the artwork. The picture frames are predominantly high-quality, matt lacquered wooden frames.

PHANDOOM creates high-resolution photos of the sculptures. These are then digitally altered, especially in terms of color, and enriched with effects. This often gives the images a new, unique character and expression.

PHANDOOM offers most of the original artworks for sale. There are also digitally processed prints of all artworks, which are realized in different versions, e.g. as fine art print on metallic paper, direct metal print or photo print. If you are interested in purchasing an artwork, feel free to contact the artist!
